After the forum ended we headed to a bus. This bus was going to take us to the next location where the rest of the conference would be held. After another hour and a half we finally arrived in … the middle of nowhere. The buss actually went onto an island called Barnens Ö, an island far away from civilization. But oh my, was it beautiful! Nature all around and the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. They told us that Finland was actually at the other end of the lake, pretty cool right? (In the end this turned out to be a joke, but we totally believed it!) We quickly went inside, settled in and finally had a good warm meal, something which we were all craving by then.

The next day, it was time for business. At 7:30 in the morning I woke up with a voice I will never ever forget screaming “Gooood Mooooorniiiiiiing” at the top of his lungs. This would happen every day after that and though it was not really that pleasant I have to admit that I kind of missed it when I was back in my bed in Gothenburg. That day we had all kinds of different seminars which talked about what AIESEC stood for, what their goals are, what they want to achieve and so on. It was a day full of information, which really helped me to grasp the concept of AIESEC.

That night, after a long day of work, it was of course time to party! They had this amazing concept, which is called ‘a white t-shirt party’. This meant that everybody had to wear white and there were markers everywhere. We could write whatever we wanted onto whomever we wanted. At the end of that night, I had a t-shirt filled with all kinds of words and drawings and even words in 6 different languages, how much more international can you go? This t-shirt I will cherish for the rest of my life, since it is filled with quotes from all these amazing people writing all these nice things.

I can go on and on about all the things that happened on that weekend, but one thing I really want to mention is the Gala night we had on Saturday. Using every excuse I get to dress up, I was more than happy with this concept. Wearing a pretty dress, heels and make-up, brings out the girl in me, and once in a while it is important to let that girl out. We had a wonderful meal, drank a lot of wine and danced until we couldn’t dance any more, that’s my idea of a good night out. All in all, one of my best weekends in Sweden so far and definitely one I will not easily forget!
